Red Arrows to fly over Barry Island

The Barry Tourist Railway is preparing for this year’s Red Arrows display at Barry Island on Sunday, August 6.

The Railway will also be hosting a toy and train fair at Barry Island Station on the same day, so there will be two good reasons to visit Barry Island!

John Buxton, managing director of Barry Tourist Railway said: “Its great that we have also secured sponsorship from some Barry Island Traders this year. The display is a substantial financial investment and by sharing the costs, it is hoped that with continued support, we can make this amazing aerobatic display an annual event.”

“Improvements have been made to the visitor facilities at Barry Island over recent years by the local authorities, Henry Danter, Marco’s and Barry Tourist Railway.

“Barry Tourist Railway will be operating a regular 20-minute interval ‘park and ride’ rail shuttle from the Waterfront Station to Barry Island Station from 9.15am to 3.30pm on Saturday, August 6, making it easy to get to the Island for the display.”
