As part of its commitment to helping local organisations, Barry Round Table held its first Community Support Workshop on Wednesday, July 31.
The event aimed to bring together local community groups and organisations to share ideas, knowledge and skills to help increase fundraising and community engagement.
Attendees took part in a range of group activities and received advice and training from members of Barry Round Table who have experience in fundraising, social media and marketing.
Also, there was guidance from local business woman, branding and marketing consultant Faye Blakely of Homemade Wales who gave attendees an insight into what businesses are looking for from groups when they are seeking support and sponsorship.
Faye Blakely said: “The evening was informal, fun and information rich – a real gift to any small groups looking for help and advice with their fundraising.
“It’s also a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who are also committed to supporting our community, building invaluable networks for future endeavours”.
Barry Round Table are planning to host further workshops for local community groups later this year. To be kept up to date with future events, email Barry@roundtable.org.uk.
