Lewis Murray from Bridgend will, with others, represent the UK at the 15th World Scout Moot in Iceland. For Lewis the World Scout Moot is an incredible once-in- a-lifetime opportunity.

The World Scout Moot is a gathering of Scouts aged 18 – 25 from across the globe. The Moot will be held in the dramatic landscape of Iceland from July 25 to August 2.

The UK contingent will comprise 500 people of a total of 5,000 Scouts from 80 countries joining to embark on nine days of what is described as “adventure, fun and discovery”.

Those taking part will stay at the National Scout Center on the banks of Lake Úlfljótsvatn, meeting people from across the world. Excursions to Geysir and the waterfalls of Gullfoss are planned.

Lewis said: “I was looking for a personal challenge and the World Scout Moot looked amazing. It’s going to be an individual adventure like no other.”
